     About Project Caritas

Project Caritas is the official fund raising campaign of the Southern African Catholic Bishops’ Conference for natural and man–made disasters. It is driven through Caritas South Africa, operating as Siyabhabha Trust, an Development and Welfare Agency Associate Body of the SACBC.

Caritas South Africa is member of the Caritas International Confederation with 162 member organizations operating in more than 200 countries worldwide.

Caritas South Africa fights poverty, exclusion, intolerance and discrimination. More importantly, it empowers people to participate fully in all matters affecting their lives. And it advocates on their behalf at national and international forums.

We believe that “building a better world means empowering people” to become more resourceful and to help themselves. This is the Good News that Jesus spread during his time and this is our message.

By supporting Project Caritas you will assist orphaned and vulnerable children to....

• Be cared for in a loving environment.
• Go to school.
• Have healthy and nutritious food to eat every day.
• Have access to safe drinking water.
• Have shelter.
• Deal with their trauma.
